Clear Channel Radio and the Arts Council of Kern have formed a collaboration to save music education for the children of Kern County, CA. The week of Sept. 12-18. This will be the first Radio & Online Fundraiser to help save music education in Kern.

Please Touch the Art - Tactile Art Exhibit
The opening reception will be held Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, 5:30 - 7:00pm
The Arts Council of Kern, the Center for the Blind and the Bakersfield Host Lions Club are proud to collaborate on Please Touch the Art, our first tactile art exhibit. The exhibit will be held at the Center for the Blind and will feature artwork that you CAN touch!
Our combined goal is to have artwork that can be seen by everyone.
Calling all Thespians
Beginning the week of September 13th, Kern students will have the opportunity to participate in a unique program designed to explore the world of theatre through art, movement and writing. To learn more, click HERE.

It has a color coded map that easily shows where the arts, culture, galleries, music, dance, public art and theater venues are in the district. Plus, arts related venues outside the district and visitors information is included as well. Look for the signs at designated trolley stops.
